Welcome to Illinois State University’s Distance Education Task force website. The Distance Education Task force will make recommendations that will support and extend Illinois State University’s high academic standards through an integrated, planned, and programmatic approach to distance education consistent with Educating Illinois. The 22-member task force is investigating a broad spectrum of issues related to curriculum, instruction methods, professional development, University policies, campus technology infrastructure and the administration and funding of distance education efforts.
“To meet Goal Two, Strategy 3 of Educating Illinois 2008-2014, we must facilitate innovative methods for delivering course instruction in ways that are appropriate for the 21st century learner,” said Provost Sheri Noren Everts. “Toward that end, I have asked the task force to address the many issues surrounding the use of distance education in a thoughtful and deliberate manner.”
